Meet our newest addition. . . .Ryder! (a.k.a. Mr. Snickers, but only if you say it in an annoyingly cute voice) We spontaneously decided to go out and adopt a dog last Friday. So, I went with Matt and Madison to the shelter in Salt Lake (I would never spend hundreds of dollars on a pure bred when so many mixed breeds in shelters need good homes). I think Matt was the one who made the decision to adopt Ryder. Also, Maddy was all over the dog, wrestling and yelling, and Ryder didn't bat an eyelash. He loved the attention! We wanted to adopt him before the kids got home from school so we could suprise them. We tricked them by saying that another stray wandered into our yard and they could play with him just until the owners came to take him home. It is so fun to be a parent! hehehe The looks on their faces were priceless when we told them that the dog was already home. They were like, "Mom, you can't just keep someone else's dog!" Well, they finally believed us after some time. Everyone was so happy...until Matt took Ryder to be groomed. Now, let me just say that before he left, it was obvious that Ryder was part german shepherd, part collie. Not so much now that he was shaved almost bald! At least he smells a lot better after his bath. . . . and there is alot less dog hair in the house.
